Welcome to Solomon's Haven
Solomons Haven was founded by Maria Solomons in 1992, with the support of her husband, Alec, and her children they took it upon themselves to open their hearts and doors to vulnerable children. They, her children, welcome the children into their home, with no malice or envy. When they are all together, one has difficulty in separating the biological children from the adopted ones.
In 2003, Maria Solomons was nominated as a finalist in the Cape Times Woman of Worth 2003 Competition and in 2004 she received the award for Woman of Worth. This made her more determined to give a helping hand to abused, abandoned and neglected children, Maria is the voice of the voiceless. Their Love and Patience with their new children joining them are always welcome with open arms.
With the award she received in 2004, she acquired a microbus, and it is still being used today. Solomons Haven today is known by the children’s court as a “place of safety” She needs property of her own as the premises which is her house is filled to full and accommodation is very limited
